Ol' Number 9. According to documentation found in the car, this car was built in California in 1997 and delivered to owner in Florida. It replicates an actual Speedster that the owner's dad raced when he owned a Ford dealership in Troy, Ohio in the 1920's. According to this documentation, “The procedure at that time was to remove the body and all other nonessentials to shed weight, the lower the frame by using a drop axle, install bucket seats, and relocate the gas tank to the rear to help balance the car. The engine was “sooped up” with headers and straight exhaust, lighter flywheel, “shaving” the head, downdraft carb, and a HOT cam.” In “the day”, these cars would be driven to the races, thus lights and horn. This car was restored with a 12 volt alternator and solenoid starter. It has car show plaques from many shows in the Daytona Beach area and still in show condition. Runs and drives good and is faster than you probably want to go…. From the collection and estate of a Greenville, SC collector.
