Lot #165-1965 Corvair Monza Convertible- Southern car very highly optioned with 110HP 6-Cylinder engine, 4-Speed manual transmission, FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING, tinted glass, power convertible top, Posi-Traction, front & rear bumper guards, Deluxe seat belts, AM radio with rear antenna, heavy duty air cleaner, and simulated mag wheel covers. It is resplendent in Danube Blue finish with blue deluxe bucket seat interior, and a white convertible top. 1965 is the first year for Corvair's re-styled body and suspension, and is very popular with collectors today. This gorgeous example was sold new to Mary Elmore of the Memphis, Tennessee area on December 4, 1964. It remained around the southeast, and the most recent owner of Hershey, Pennsylvania, bought it restored 12 years ago in Mobile, Alabama. Car has a straight body with gorgeous paint, new professionally-installed convertible top, and, except for new carpet, original interior. Miles showing are 89K and that is certainly believed to be actual. Car starts, runs, drives, and stops just like it is supposed to. It appears that all suspension components and brakes were replaced during the restoration. With factory air conditioning, starting in 1965, the spare tires was moved to the trunk compartment, and it appears to the be original spare. Original floors are solid and straight. Documentation included with this car is the original owner's manual, Protect-O-Plate, accessory booklet, and some tag registrations that show its Tennessee/Alabama heritage.
