Lot #942-1970 Plymouth Road Runner Convertible VIN- The seller says that this is a very RARE example of a true Road Runner drop top, restored with original matching #'s colors (Popular Plymouth B5 Blue) and 2 original build sheets! Mopar only offered a convertible version of the Road Runner for 2 production years (1969 & 1970). In 1970, only 1,242 convertibles were equipped with the stout 383 powerplant (68-440's and 6-hemi's) with only 429 of those being offered with an automatic 727 transmission. Even less of those 429 vehicles were made available with that automatic transmission mounted on the floor console and even less than that were finished in the always popular B5 blue. Reportedly completely frame-off restored in 2018 including rebuilding of the engine and transmission. As many original and NOS as possible were used. Original equipment includes 335HP 383 V-8, 727 Automatic transmission, power convertible top, bucket seats & console, and 8-track stereo. Presentation includes the steel wheels with “dog dish” hub caps and redline tires. The undercarriage is as nicely detailed as the top of the car. This is a very rare “stripe delete” car according to the seller. Car still retains its original fender tag and the build sheets are included as well. Check out the cool Air Grabber hood! Beep Beep!!
